End Point In Last Scene: Horatio gets bitten by a zombie

Characters in Scene: Horatio. Mob of zombies and survivors [Mentioned not seen]

Point of Scene: Establish that Horatio is now in fact a zombie.

Conflict: Horatio becomes a zombie

Ending/Central Question: Will Horatio overcome the issues? Will Horatio survive?

Key Micro Elements: The focus of this scene will be on Editing, showing the effects of zombification and the transition of humanity to an uncontrollable state. The editing will highlight the conflict occurring through Horatio's body through the use of blurring and bright flashing.
The Camera will also illustrate the fact that Horatio is alone in this scene, his body is changing and nobody is around to help him through it, this will allow the audience to relate to Horatio as there is an underlying tone for the effects of puberty and the on going struggle of hormones in which we all feel.

Scene Description : Horatio is standing upright, outside of his house [camera] street lights flicker [lighting] [mise en scene] Horatio groans loudly [Diegetic] and his vision starts to blur [editing]. A gunshot in the distance [Diegetic] Horatio starts to slowly hobble towards it, walking through an open road of ruin and wreckage [mise en scene]. We see Horatio is completely alone due to the use of [camera].

Horatio begins to discuss his thoughts through the use of an inner monologue [non-diegetic sound] as he journeys towards the gunshot. [Editing] provides the viewer with a flash of a zombies face and reverts back to Horatio [camera]

Point of Scene: To show Horatio the outside perils

Conflict: Zombie Apocalypse

Ending/Central Question: Will Jeremiah and Horatio survive? Why has the Zombie Apocalypse started?

Key Micro Elements: The focus of this scene will be on Mise-en-scene, showing props and settings linked to everyday life and the normality inside Horatio's house whilst also portraying the outside world and all of it's horrors. The mise en scene will allow the viewer to relate to Horatio as he goes
through his every day life.

Scene Description Focusing on Key Micro Aspects: Horatio picks up the phone as the kettle starts to whistle [Diegetic] [Mise en Scene] Horatio puts down the phone after talking to Jeremiah. In shock Horatio runs to the window [camera] and looks outside. Zombies are running through the park [Mise en Scene] to eat people. Loud bang [Diegetic] at the door and Horatio runs to see [camera] Zombie neighbour crawling over knocked down door with white fence caught to foot [Mise en Scene]

Suddenly Horatio turns around [camera] and is bitten on his shoulder. Horatio falls to the floor [camera] eyes are blurred [editing] kettle whistle fades out [non-diegetic sound] viewer sees feet of zombie wearing pink slippers [mise en scene]

 Point of Scene: To show Horatio's characteristics to the audience
                          To make Horatio's issues and the worlds issues known to the audience

 Conflict: Zombie Apocalypse

 Ending / Central Question: What will happen to Horatio throughout the Zombie Apocalypse

 Focus on Key Micro Aspects: In this opening scene, camera will be the main focus of the scene, specifically the use of the mise en scene empowering the camera angles and framing. These micro aspects will be used to show Horatio's ignorance towards the zombie apocalypse as he ventures through his normal morning routine. Close up side shots of Horatio's face tracking him whilst moving through his house will highlight Horatio's obliviousness to the outside world and the events occurring.

Scene Description focusing on key micro aspects: Horatio wakes up after sleeping on the couch, his point of view is blurred and out of focus [camera]. He gets up and stretches his arms [camera]. Horatio walks past his kitchen window, [camera framing] frames his face while the zombie apocalypse occurs outside.

Horatio then walks over and boils the kettle and leans back on the kitchen side table behind him still facing the camera [mise on scene]. A zombie walks directly past the window behind him [camera framing] and Horatio prepares to turn and face the window when suddenly [sound] the phone rings which gains Horatio's attention.
